Our story
👋 My name is Sophie, and behind Plume Malice is above all a beautiful personal and family adventure that I’m excited to share with you.
My journey has always been connected to the world of creativity. After studying web design and graphic arts, I had the opportunity to work in traditional printing houses, alongside impressive machines - the kind that smell of fresh ink and paper. I loved this craft of precision, a true art of layout, imposition, and expertise… a profession that is unfortunately becoming increasingly rare today.
Later on, I continued my path in a publishing house, where I had the opportunity to collaborate with major brands such as Mattel and Warner Bros. That’s where I discovered a world that truly captivated me: children’s publishing. It was love at first sight! Creating books that inspire, amaze, and make children’s eyes shine quickly became a passion.
A few years later, with this valuable experience in hand - and above all the desire to balance my professional life with my new role as a mom - I decided to start my own business. That’s how Plume Malice was born. My goal was to create books that reflect our children, stories where they can recognize themselves, laugh, dream, and grow.
Today, Plume Malice has grown a lot - just like my children! The catalog has expanded over the years, but my love for children’s publishing remains as strong as ever.

The team
At Plume Malice, we are a passionate team dedicated to creating exceptional products that will make your children dream — just like ours.
I work every day with Laetitia and Johanna, two talented illustrators who carefully imagine and draw every character and every setting. Together, we create unique books with a fresh, modern, and playful graphic style.
All illustrations are created by hand by our amazing illustrators Laëtitia and Joanna, who bring the Plume Malice worlds to life on paper. Their drawings are then refined digitally so they can be personalized.
Your photos are then carefully enhanced to improve quality and lighting… and integrated into the products, which are finally printed and crafted with love to make your children dream (and ours too!).

Joanna DESILES, aka Jo
Illustrator and graphic designer for over 10 years. I love creating illustrations for children and I’m passionate about history, cultural heritage, the arts, zen culture, hiking… and of course, cats!
Laëtitia JALAGUIER, aka Miss Piu
After studying Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, I ultimately found my path in Graphic Design and Illustration. Curious, versatile in creative work, and a true lover of images and colors, I’m also the mom of two little girls.
Our creative process
We are committed to offering products that are entirely designed and manufactured in France🇫🇷.
From sketch...
Everything starts with an idea: we imagine a theme, a story, characters, and settings… Then our illustrators Joanna and Laëtitia pick up their pencils and begin sketching on paper first! Yes - not everything is done on a computer!
At Plume Malice, we place great importance on our illustrations. They are unique and created exclusively for our books - you won’t find them anywhere else. They are also protected by copyright.
...to digital creation
Once the first draft is completed, all drawings are transferred to the computer. This essential step allows us to create YOUR personalized books! For example, we can adjust skin tones without altering the original artwork created by Joanna or Laëtitia. This way, you can have characters that truly look like you!
Coloring and final touches
After adding the final details such as shadows and highlights, our illustrations truly come to life with vibrant colors and energy!
Made-to-measure craftsmanship
Once your book is purchased, we begin the production process. Your product is truly one of a kind, made just for you, and this careful work takes time.
We start by enhancing your photo, which is why choosing it carefully is important. We adjust the illustration’s skin tone to match your hero, integrate the first name into the story, and finalize every personalized detail.
Your book is then printed in our facilities in France on high-quality, thick chlorine-free paper, Ecolabel and FSC certified, before being carefully finished.
It is then ready to make its way to you!
